Despite the inclement weather and the cozy confines of the new space, Antigo Visual Arts (AVA) hosted a successful Grand Opening event for their new AVA Art Center on Saturday, June 22, from 11 AM to 3 PM. The event took place within AVA’s new space at 1350 Hogan Street inside the Aspen Villages Apartment Complex Community Building.
Marie Benes, Treasurer of Antigo Visual Arts, praised the efforts of the volunteers and supporters: “Despite the poor weather conditions and limited space, our AVA volunteers did an outstanding job at our open house event. We extend a special thank you to all our workers and the wonderful donors who made this event possible.” The lease for the new AVA Art Center space was signed in September 2023 by AVA’s late president, Joe Hermolin. AVA honors his legacy by continuing to serve the community in this incredible new space. “Our mission continues to move forward and grow with our new work area known as the AVA Art Center,” Benes added. “Since the new year, we have gained many new members and are now seeking a special person to help us stay organized and continue our growth. We are hiring a director for the AVA Art Center. This is a developing position with potential for growth. Interested applicants can email ava@antigovisualarts.org for a job description.”
Special thanks are extended to all our event sponsors, particularly the CoVantage Credit Union, Kretz Lumber, Schroeder’s Gifts, Langlade Dairy Association, and all our dedicated helpers.
