Antigo Visual Arts (AVA) and the Langlade County Humane Society have teamed up on a unique public art project now on display along Clermont Street in Antigo.
Humane Society representative Terrie Colby approached AVA with the idea of recreating the Humane Society logo using recycled plastic bottle caps as part of AVA’s ongoing Plastic Bottle Cap Project.
AVA artist Sharon Gibson took on the project, creating a detailed mosaic featuring the Humane Society’s cat and dog logo using recycled bottle caps. The completed artwork is now displayed on the fence outside the Langlade County Humane Society at 2204 Clermont St., Antigo.
“AVA is always excited to collaborate with fellow nonprofits and community creators to showcase the creative talent we have in our area,” said Danna Gabriel, president of Antigo Visual Arts. “Sharon immediately embraced this project, and we are proud to highlight her creativity while celebrating what can happen when organizations in a small community come together through art.”
The project promotes recycling, public art, and nonprofit collaboration within the Antigo community.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to stop by the Langlade County Humane Society fence on Clermont Street to view the artwork in person.
