Join Us for an Evening with Award-Winning Carver Al Benes at the AVA Meeting

We are excited to welcome Al Benes to our next Antigo Visual Arts (AVA) member meeting on September 25 at 6 p.m. at the Antigo Public Library. Al, who began carving in 2012 after teaching himself through YouTube videos, has a background in taxidermy that made painting his carvings somewhat easier. His impressive work has been featured at major shows across Wisconsin, where he has won numerous first-place ribbons for his fish carvings. Notably, he received the People’s Choice Award at a show with over 90 carvers. Al will be bringing some of his carvings to the meeting and is eager to share his expertise and assist those interested in learning the art of carving.
