Both neurographic art and scribbles provide non-verbal outlets for expressing feelings and ideas. This creative expression can lead to personal discoveries and a deeper understanding of oneself, promoting emotional and psychological growth. Neurographic art and scribbles involve drawing freeform using interconnected lines and shapes encouraging mindfulness and a meditative state. The focus on the present moment and the rhythmic movement of the pen help reduce stress, enhance relaxation, and allow individuals to explore subconscious thoughts and emotions. Transforming chaotic lines into harmonious patterns, promotes insights into inner worlds and fosters self-awareness.
Art Therapist Jill McNutt Ph.D., LPC, ATRL, ATR-BC, ATCS will provide an art therapy experiential and discuss:
Art Therapy in service of mindfulness and self-knowledge?
When and how to refer to an art therapist, and
How to become an art therapist.
There will also be time for sharing art and questions.
