Antigo Visual Arts Opens Annual Christmas Gift Shop at the AVA Gallery In the Langlade County Historical Museum

Antigo Visual Arts (AVA), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the arts in Langlade County, is pleased to announce the opening of its annual AVA Christmas Gift Shop, now on display at the AVA Gallery on the 2nd floor of the Langlade County Historical Museum.

A warm and festive reception was held on Saturday, November 15 from 5–7 p.m., where community members gathered to meet artists, explore handcrafted holiday art, and celebrate the season together.

As part of the celebration, AVA proudly announces the winners of this year’s Ornament Contest:

  • 1st Place: Quilled Christmas Tree Bulb — Shelli Hagerty 
  • 2nd Place: Northern Lights Bulb — Camille Converse Smith 
  • 3rd Place: Quilled Cross — Shelli Hagerty

During the reception, two poinsettia plants were given away as door prizes, awarded to Ray Hrovat and Karen Stimac.

This year’s exhibit features a delightful array of holiday-themed artwork created by local artists. The gallery  is now fully stocked with one-of-a-kind pieces perfect for holiday giving.

The Christmas Gift Shop will run through January 8, 2026, and visitors are encouraged to stop by during museum hours—Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.—to find, locally made gifts and support Antigo’s creative community.

“Our Christmas shop showcases a diverse selection of unique, handcrafted items ideal for holiday gifts and decorations. From beautifully crafted ornaments to paintings and photographs, there’s something special for everyone. This event is a fantastic opportunity to discover one-of-a-kind treasures created by local artists that will make your holiday season even more magical,” said local artist and AVA member Shelli Hagerty.
