Antigo Visual Arts hosted a Wisconsin Regional Arts Program (WRAP) workshop at their gallery located inside the Langlade County Historical Museum on Saturday, May 4. The workshop was led by Deb Lund, WRAP Judge, and workshop presenter.
“I found the demonstration very interesting and informative.” said Audrey Wild, a member of AVA and participant in the WRAP workshop, “Deb did a great job of explaining negative painting, and her tips on framing a pastel were helpful.”
WRAP, sponsored by the Association of Wisconsin Artists (AWA), encourages artists of all levels to practice their craft. AVA hosts a WRAP exhibit annually in the spring, with the workshop held at the end of the exhibit. These educational workshop presentations and critique sessions aim to inspire artists to develop their abilities and grow as artists.
“Deb Lund’s dedication to WRAP and WRAP-Teen 2024 exhibits really shined, ending with this informative workshop. Not only did she cover composition and the rule of thirds, but she also went beyond, enriching our understanding and skills.” Danna Gabriel, AVA representative who attended the workshop, “Deb’s involvement in our 2024 exhibits and her workshop presentation demonstrates her deep commitment to nurturing artistic talent. Her experience and mentorship have been incredibly helpful.”
The success of WRAP and WRAP-Teen is thanks to AWA, which sponsors the programs yearly, and AVA, which hosts them. These programs enrich our local art community, providing valuable opportunities for growth and development.
